A good rule of thumb is to check your windshield wipers when you’re doing spring automotive maintenance or when it’s time to winterize your car.

Regularly Inspect Your Vehicle

Every month or so, it’s a good idea to check on these aspects of your vehicle to ensure that everything is in proper working order:

  • All warning lights should be in working order.
  • Tire pressure should be at the correct level, which you can check with a tire air pressure gauge.
  • Tire tread shouldn’t be too low. Check this by putting a penny in the groove of your tire with the top of Lincoln’s head facing the tire. If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, it’s time for new tires.
  • Wiper fluid, antifreeze, colant, and other liquids should be at the proper levels. You should also check for leaks.
