2021 Ram 1500: A Supercharged Engine

Under the hood of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, drivers can expect to find a standard Supercharged 6.2L HEMI® V8 engine. Netting 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, it makes for truly smooth highway driving. It’s pretty fast, too, going from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.5 seconds.

What makes this engine so powerful? The inclusion of a high-performance air induction system, which works to filter out debris and dirt while consuming up to 32.9 liters of air per minute.

This engine also comes with a cast-iron engine block and a forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearings. Combined, they are engineered to withstand firing pressures of 1,595 psi, or 20,000 pounds of force.

Rock Mode: Rocks up ahead? Simply switch over to Rock Mode, which uses a 50/50 torque split while shifting to an extra low gear ratio. Moreover, Selec-Speed® Control holds a set velocity to create a controlled descent.

Mud/Sand Mode: Show mud and deep sand who’s boss. When this mode is selected, the Ram 1500 will use a 55.55 initial torque split, calibrating throttle management, and torque distribution to improve traction and mitigate wheel slip.
