The new Ram 3500 has hit showrooms with a bang, and if you’re looking for a massive, beefy truck that also offers outstanding tech packages and a cabin that’s just plush with luxury touches, this one is going to be hard to beat. It offers a rugged diesel engine option that delivers massive towing capacity, a high-end Uconnect® infotainment system, tons of safety technology, and it serves as an outstanding entry in the heavy-duty full-size pickup sector.
As you consider getting out on the Collierville, Memphis, and Germantown, TN roads, Collierville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram offers up this Ram 3500 review.
This year’s model hits showroom floors as part of the fifth generation, but it brings a major upgrade with its high output diesel engine that kicks up 75 pound-feet of torque more than it did in the past, and also boosts its maximum towing rating by a whopping 2,000 more pounds. It also offers a new technology feature or two like the digital rearview mirror option.
The new Ram 3500 comes in five different trim levels:
You can choose from the regular cab, crew cab, and extra-large Mega Cab configurations with a standard 6-foot 4-inch bed or 8-foot bed. All come with rear-wheel drive and offer four-wheel drive as an option.
At the Tradesman, you get a 5-inch Uconnect® touchscreen with Bluetooth for the phone and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Big Horn adds a few touches like power heated towing mirrors, power accessories, remote keyless entry, and a trailer brake controller.
The Laramie is where things really step up, adding features like power fold accessories, heated seats up front, automatic dual-zone climate control, and a heated steering wheel all to add comfort and convenience. The infotainment system also kicks up to an 8.4-inch touchscreen with satellite radio, nine-speaker premium audio, and integration for your Android and Apple smart devices as well as remote start and parking sensors.
Step up to the Longhorn and you add LED bed lighting, automatic windshield wipers, and heated back seats for more comfort. You also get a GPS system and a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot. At the Limited trim, you’ll add a huge 12-inch touchscreen and wireless device charging. As for driver aids, you get blind-spot monitoring that extends to your trailer, and cross-traffic alerts to help you see what you can’t normally.
The three Ram engines are:
When properly equipped with high output diesel, this truck can tow a whopping 37,100 pounds of trailer, flatbed, or vehicle. If hauling is more important to you, go with the standard HEMI® V8. This one boasts a maximum payload of 7,680 pounds of cargo in the bed.
The Ram 3500 is a refined pickup with superb towing and hauling, and great technology at every level. To get out on the roads of Collierville, Memphis, and Germantown, TN, for a test drive, contact us now at Collierville CDJR.
